I'm not sure all the changes have been good, but I think every generation laments the same thing.ND Prairie Gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09482119518098737940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6313555987428269390.post-24117985960528746462014-07-01T07:26:04.780-07:002014-07-01T07:26:04.780-07:00Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I love "hobbies" (they're still work) that have a useful outcome.

Oh, I noticed that you read Christmas at Pebble Creek. I read Foxfire Christmas just after this past Christmas. It was a book that left a huge impression on me. It made me thankful for my childhood and the reality of how blessed my children and grandchildren have been. How very different our world and expectations have become since our parents and grandparents were children.Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03397087180636686873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6313555987428269390.post-54039919128054220952014-06-28T19:27:26.066-07:002014-06-28T19:27:26.066-07:00Diane - I saw this type of rug making a couple yea...Diane - I saw this type of rug making a couple years ago at a fiber festival in Michigan and regretted not picking up a loom then or at least the book they had on how to do it. I've been buying sheets at yard sales and thrift stores as cheaply as I can. As a rug can easily take 12 to 15 or more yards of fabric depending on the size you can imagine how expensive new fabric would be although I'm on blogs that do use new fabrics for "custom" rugs. This particular rug has 6 different sheets in it. I have a stack of t-shirts that I plan to make my next one out of. I just finished a crocheted jute rug that I'm hoping to post pics of this weekend.,ND Prairie Gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09482119518098737940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6313555987428269390.post-85682789233982927692014-06-24T06:59:04.357-07:002014-06-24T06:59:04.357-07:00You really have had a lot going on. Our kids and grandkids live in the lower midwest, too. Your loom project is amazing. I haven't seen that done before. Love the colors you're using on your rug. Do you buy the strips of cloth or are you using fabric from clothing you want to discard (sort of the pioneer way!). Tammy, if you would like an invitation to my private blog, please e-mail me. I feel awkward visiting your blog and not having you share mine. Diane (aka Carol)Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03397087180636686873noreply@blogger.com
